Otley Athletic Club Although the club has enjoyed many successes in competition particularly in recent years, one of the main achievements has been to build a membership which includes many who simply enjoy running without ever needing to go particularly fast, or, heaven forbid, win anything. The club includes within its ranks runners of county standard, an Olympic athlete (transplant games!), a current ladies veteran world record holder and lots more who haven’t won anything but are content to take part.

Penistone Footpath Runners Penistone as a settlement can be dated back to the Century of Alfred the Great and was founded somewhere between 800 and 900 A.D.. It’s early name was usually spelt "PENIGESTUN’ and it became well known in the sheep trade, boasting its own brand of sheep and a market which was granted a Royal Charter back in 1699. Penistone Footpath Runners & A.C. cannot claim to be as old as this but has now established a firm base and a high reputation on the local running scene.

Phoenix Triathlon Club Phoenix Triathlon Club is a multi sport club based in the Guildford area of Surrey. Plymstock Road Runners We are a very friendly club, which has grown considerably in the last couple of years. We welcome runners of any and all standards. Our membership is increasing nearly every week. As of November 2006, we had over 124 paid up senior members. If you just want to keep fit or train for that particular race, we're the club for you. Road Runners Club The Road Runner's Club (RRC) was founded in 1952, as the first specifically road-running club in the world, to encourage running nationwide at distances from 10 miles upwards. It is now concerned with all road-race distances from 5 miles to beyond the marathon. Serpentine Running Club Serpentine Running Club caters for all ages and ability levels of runners in central London. Our philosophy has always been that running is first and foremost fun, but we have progressed dramatically, and now have much to offer the more serious runners as well. We have 2412 members of whom 45% are women. We have a wide variation of ages: many young people, and also a high proportion of veterans (known in America as masters).

Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team What A Summer Holiday Welshman Abichal Watkins decided to spend his summer in New York — that in itself is not remarkable. The fact that he spent the time running 3100 miles around a school in Queens, New York is. Abichal was one of 12 participants in the Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race. The race is run on a .5488 of a mile sidewalk loop. The participants get to run or walk for 18 hours from 6am to midnight trying to accumulate as many miles each day in their quest to complete 3100 miles. This is Abichal's second attempt at the distance, last year he completed 2747 miles in 53 days, an average of 52.01 miles per day. He is the editor of a new running website, Multidays.com and a forthcoming book titled the Multiday Runners Handbook. Oh! By the way the 43 year old from Pontypool finished the race this year completing the distance of 3100 miles in 55 days + 8:32:41, he then went on to reach 5000k in 55 days 11:04:59, both Welsh and British records (pending).

Stainland Lions Road Runners Stainland Lions Running Club is a well established group of runners spanning all levels of ability. Our training covers everything from general fitness to marathons. If you have never run before then this is a great place to start, or if you are a sub 3 hour marathon runner we have runners you can train with. You don't have to be ready for the elite section to join us, it doesn't matter to us if you're a 5 minute miler, an 11 minute miler, or a complete beginner all our members have one thing in common - we all love to run (well most of the time anyway - everyone is allowed an off day here and there). We hold new training groups periodically, these are ideal for anyone who has never run before and would like to try their feet (as opposed to hand) at the sport, or, as is frequently the case, people who have had a break from running but are ready to rejoin the masses
