British Association of Road Races  Today BARR remains a membership association open to any road or multi-terrain race and its aim is almost identical to that when it was founded back in 1984. What have changed in recent times are the objectives. These have widened considerably with the introduction by UKA Athletics of both Permit Standards for all events and a joint UKA/BARR National Race Grading scheme – a significant expansion on that originally conceived by the founding fathers nearly two decades ago

Race Results    SportSoft, the premier Athletics Results Service operated by Graham Fecitt from the North West, covering the whole country.  It is my aim to provide on site results service for your athletics event - Road, Cross Country, Relay or Triathlon at the most economical rates.  Results are produced on site, with sales copies of full results usually available within a few minutes of the last runner finishing

Bath Half Marathon    We hope that the Nationwide Bath Half Marathon is firmly set in your calendar and that you will return for the 2008 event.


Birmingham University 5km    The start and finish are in the shadow of "Old Joe" - the red-brick University clock tower dominating the campus skyline. The main race attracts elite athletes and serious club runners, but gives anyone a chance to test their ability against a high standard of competition.  The fun run is designed for those who want a short sprint, a gentle jog or a stroll around the University grounds with the family. Children's teams from clubs and organisations are as welcome as moms and dads who want to wheel junior around in a pushchair.


Blackpool Marathon and Half Marathon        Group Entries  - UK athletics clubs will be given guaranteed entries for the 2005 Asics Blackpool Marathon & Half Marathon.  In addition to this priority simple to use entry system we are also offering £1 off per entry. Cabbage Patch 10    The Cabbage Patch 10 mile race is one of the flattest and best 10 milers in the country (Richard Nerurkar set an all time British record of 46 mins 2 secs in 1993). Starting and finishing in Twickenham the course follows a loop, crossing the river in Kingston and Richmond and as always race HQ is the Cabbage Patch pub in Twickenham.
This 10 mile race is for runners of all standards on roads and towpaths through Twickenham, Kingston and Richmond.


Cardiff Half Marathon    The Cardiff Half Marathon is a Barnardo’s Cymru led event in partnership with Cardiff County Council and the South Wales Echo. We are delighted to welcome runners from all over the world, which shows that it is fast becoming known in the international calendar.


Chasewater 10km


Cheshire Triathlon    The Sundog Cheshire Triathlon is a fun and challenging event set in Nantwich, South Cheshire, just 40 minutes from Liverpool, Birmingham or Manchester. The event is aimed at all abilities, at all levels of fitness, from complete novice to club and pro triathlete, as well as charity and fun competitors.


Crossdale 10km   Feeling inspired by the London Marathon? Why not enter next year? The Crossdale 10k would be an ideal event to enter as part of your training!


Devil o' the Highlands          The "Devil o' the Highlands" is a 43 Mile footrace which begins at Tyndrum (Perthshire) and finishes in Fort William (Highlands). Each competitor has 12 hours to complete the course which follows the latter part of the "West Highland Way".


Dublin Marathon   run through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin, Ireland's largest and capital city. Dublin is home to a quarter of the country's almost 4 million people. Though founded by the Vikings, it is now a vibrant, dynamic city where half of the population are under 25. Dublin is only an hour by air from most U.K. and European cities, and more than half of the expected entry of 10,000 will be made up of overseas runners, many of whom will be returning to sample Irish Hospitality once more.

Edinburgh Marthon               Edinburgh Marathon - The most spectacular marathon in the world? What other marathon goes around an Historic Castle, along ancient streets, through a Royal Palace, past a Prehistoric Volcano, past a Royal Yacht, along miles of beautiful shoreline and into a Royal park? There is only one way to find out why Edinburgh Marathon was so popular last year that it doubled in size. Run it!  


Edinburgh Triathlon     Edinburgh Racing hold events for duathlon, triathlon and aquathon. The Great Gorilla Run                   Since the first Great Gorilla Run in 2003 the event has raised over £500,000 for The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Around 2,000 runners have donned their gorilla suits with pride and walked, ran or jogged the 7K City of London route which goes past such London sights as Tower Bridge, The Lord Mayors Building and The Tate Modern. Click here to see a map of the route. Join us for the fourth annual London Great Gorilla Run, which is promising to be the biggest ever with 1,000 places available for the first time!! Take in the best sights London has to offer in what will be an amazing day out for all the family! Registration costs £100 and includes your full gorilla costume (which you get to keep afterwards). Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. We ask all runners to then do their best to raise a further £400 in sponsorship. Dressing up in a gorilla suit and ape-ing around whilst raising money for charity….. ??? What a way to spend a Sunday!

Great Scottish Run


Green Belt Relay     The Green Belt Relay is a 220 mile run for teams of 11 runners that takes place each year in May. It is open to runners of all standards.  It starts from Hampton Court and circumnavigates London on towpaths, footpaths and quiet country lanes before returning to Kingston. The course is renowned for the spectacular scenery and interesting sites that it passes.  The stages vary in distance from 6 to 14 miles with teams of 11 taking part over 22 stages. The course is marked throughout and each stage is accurately timed with prizes given for the individual and team winners.


Grim Challenge   This land is used to test Army vehicles so expect it to be interesting! You will reach a long hill shortly after the start before descending again eventually reaching a water filled ravine. You will run on over puddle-strewn paths before having to crawl under camouflage netting. You'll eventually reach some man-made mounds before arriving at and running through some rather large puddles. Expect to get very wet! You'll run on to the fast vehicle driving circuit where it is rocky underfoot. This brings you to some more large areas of water and the finish area.


Grunty Fen Half Marathon     a fast, flat, two looped course through pleasant Fenland countryside.

Hastings Half Marathon   The course circumnavigates the Ancient Town of Hastings, starting at the Seafront and following the route of William the Conqueror towards Battle, round the back of the Town and down to the Famous 'Old Town' and fishing Village of Hastings, then comes back along the three mile Seafront back to where you started. Although tough for the first part of the course, runners have produced some very fast times and PB's, as the last two-thirds is Flat or Downhill, and then the finish on the Promenade. The Event is for all runners of All Ability to achieve your own special Goal.

Hebridean Challenge    The Access Sport Hebridean Challenge is a unique race for teams of five, four or pairs, which takes place each year in the wild and beautiful Outer Hebrides of Scotland


Henley Half Marathon    Henley-on-Thames is a small town (10,000 population) situated on the banks of the River Thames. It is some 38 miles west of London and 24 miles from London's Heathrow Airport.  Heathrow, Oxford and  Windsor are half an hours drive away. It sits on the edge of the Chiltern hills which provide exceptionally beautiful views in the rolling countryside. The Thames at Henley is the scene for the world famous Henley Regatta held in the first week of July and attended by crews from all over the world. It is followed shortly after by the Henley Festival of Music and the Arts

The Jurassic Coast Challenge 2007

A phenomenal outdoor adventure along one of the most picturesque and challenging sections of coastline to be found anywhere in the world. Ideal preparation for anyone competing in an Ironman or marathon in 2007. The Challenge: To cover, entirely on foot, the length of Dorset’s south coast in three stages over 3 days. Lyme Regis to Swanage. One day challenges on each individual section are also available. The format: Groups of similarly paced runners, joggers and walkers will aim to cover the route of approximately a marathon each day in 3 stages with overnight stops in Fleet and Lulworth. To complete one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences you will ever find. To boost your endurance fitness to levels that you only dreamt about before now. The full Jurassic coast challenge event of 3 days costs just £135 including daily transfers to get you back to the start and your vehicle each day, full votwo support on route and a special finishers memento. Mansfield Half Marathon    In recent years the Mansfield race has incorporated various championships into the race. The event has regularly hosted the Nottinghamshire AAA half marathon championships and in 2004 the race included the national Fire Brigade championships. In 2005 the Midland Half Marathon Championships were part of the Mansfield event and in 2006 the race also incorporated the British Masters championships

Race the Train    Many competitors return regularly to try and better their performance or just beat THAT train while others have run nearly every year since the races started. Most serious runners have heard about it either from their friends, TV, or the press so, if you haven’t already competed, perhaps this year is the time to attempt it.  These events also give you the additional challenge of not only racing your fellow competitors but also the Train. Having been televised world-wide on several occasions we have attracted many runners from abroad coming from all over Europe and as far away as New Zealand, Australia, America, Hong Kong and Africa.

Entries are open for the Asics Reading Half Marathon 2006. The new fast, flat course has excellent PB potential and, backed by the top running shoe brand, the 2006 event promises to be better than ever before. Sussex Beacon Half Marathon -  The only half marathon to run through Brighton centre, past landmarks such as the Brighton Pavilion and along the seafront. The race is perfectly timed as part of your Flora London Marathon training. Its great race for serious runners and first timers alike - our winner in 2007 was just 20secs off his personal best.


Stornoway Half Marathon    The Stornoway Half Marathon is no ordinary race. We offer a superb course, the second half of which is off-road, around the beautiful wooded grounds of Lews Castle


Stratford 220 Triathlon     The Stratford 220 Triathlon is a fun but challenging event set around the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon. The event is aimed at all abilities, at all levels of fitness, from complete novice to club and pro triathlete, as well as charity and fun competitors


The Sussex Beacon half marathon - for 2007 it will be held on Sunday 18th Feb, starting at 10am from Brighton seafront. Its an annual event featuring online entry - www.sussexbeacon.org.uk/halfmarathon.htm an all road course and chip timing. It’s a major fundraiser for the Sussex Beacon last year attracting over 4100 entrants and raising over £83,000 - for 2007 we are aiming for 6000 entrants and funds raised totalling £111,000.


Swineshead Ten Mile Run               The race is a single lap over undulating rural roads & is considered by many to be the best organised small race in East Anglia. www.swineshead10.co.uk

Ythan Challenge       This was where the adventure really began, with a variety of obstacles to slow down the runners — including hay bales, crawl nets, firemen’s poles, and some awesome hills to climb — and the river Ythan to navigate before they headed back to the Meadows.
